Hans and Helena's wedding day was a beautiful celebration of their love for each other, held at the historic Straus Home Ranch in Marshall, California.
Having photographed last year what became dubbed 'The English Event' in my home town of Cheltenham, UK, I was truly honoured when Hans, Helena and their incredible families asked me if I would like to photograph their big day across the pond!
Straus Home Ranch has a rich history dating back to the early 1940s when Bill and Ellen Straus established a dairy farm on the rolling hills above Tomales Bay. The Straus family were early pioneers of organic farming, and their ranch was one of the first certified organic dairies west of the Mississippi. The ranch's stunning views of Tomales Bay, its rustic charm, and its commitment to sustainability make it an ideal place to celebrate life's most important moments... and I haven't even mentioned the incredible ice cream yet!
Hans and Helena's wedding day was no exception. The couple exchanged vows on a typically sunny Californian September afternoon under towering eucalyptus trees on the ranch's hilltop grove. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour on the lawn overlooking the bay before heading inside for dinner and to dance the night away in the ranch's barn.
The evening was filled with laughter and dancing late into the night!
Hans and Helena, I wish you a lifetime of happiness together, and I don't even know where to begin trying to thank you for having me document yet another milestone in your completely inspiring lives!
